The Birds
The Story of Shiwa Coffee: How a Flock of Guinea Fowl Became Our Morning Wake-Up Call—and Our Logo
In the remote highlands of Northern Zambia, where the mornings are misty and the air carries the scent of wild herbs and damp earth, the story of Shiwa Coffee began not with beans, but with birds.

The Community
Our coffee is cultivated with care by the women of our community. This initiative empowers them to earn additional income, provides the flexibility they need as primary caregivers and creates opportunities for them to share their knowledge with students at our affiliated agricultural colleges. Together, we’re fostering a sustainable future for both our community and the next generation one sip at a time.
The Estate
Established in 1914 by Sir Stewart Gore-Brown, our family has lived, worked, loved, bled and been connected to the same lands where now our coffee trees bloom. Just up the hill is the historic Shiwa Manor House, where our proud family of Zambian-British farmers live.
Charged with a legacy and fueled by caffeine.
